FAQ Transport technology & load securing: Expert knowledge on inloader pallets & special constructions
Yes, our standard inloader pallets are designed to be compatible with standard inloader systems on the market (e.g. Faymonville, Langendorf). However, as we also manufacture special pallets, we will be happy to check the technical interface to your vehicle fleet for specific requirements in order to guarantee a smooth logistics process.
Absolutely. In addition to our standardized catalog range, the construction of special frames is one of our core competencies. Our engineering team develops the statically optimal solution based on your components (concrete, wood, glass or other goods). From 3D planning to production in our own steel construction plant in Austria, you receive everything from a single source.
As our products are often exposed to harsh weather conditions on construction sites, we rely on durable surface protection. Depending on customer requirements and intended use, we offer our frames hot-dip galvanized (for maximum corrosion protection in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461) or with a high-quality industrial paint finish in your company color.
Safety comes first at R-TECH. Our products not only undergo static calculations, but also
While we have a strong history in the precast concrete industry, we have successfully expanded our product range. We offer specialized swap bodies for timber construction that are designed to meet the specific requirements (protection against moisture, other pressure points) of timber wall and floor elements.
This is the great advantage of our solid steel construction: Our frames are extremely robust and can almost always be repaired in the event of damage. Instead of disposing of the entire system, damaged struts or profiles can usually be professionally replaced or repaired. This saves costs and conserves resources.
The load capacity varies depending on the model series. Our standard in-loader pallets are designed for the typical tonnages of the precast industry (often in the range of approx. 20 to 30 tons payload, depending on the total train weight). We design reinforced heavy-duty versions for extremely heavy loads. The exact working load limit (WLL) is indicated on the type plate of each frame.
As work equipment, transport racks are subject to statutory regulations (e.g. UVV in Germany or AMVO in Austria). We recommend an annual visual inspection for deformation, cracks in weld seams or corrosion by a competent person. Thanks to their solid construction, our products are extremely low-maintenance, but regular inspections ensure long-term occupational safety.
To minimize freight costs, we deliver our systems either fully assembled or partially assembled to save space (e.g. for larger quantities), depending on the model and customer requirements. In the case of partially assembled deliveries, final assembly can be carried out on site with little effort thanks to precise manufacturing and the enclosed instructions.

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about swap bodies for concrete construction
Our heavy-duty swap bodies are specifically designed for the requirements of the concrete industry and have a reinforced frame structure. This enables an extremely high payload of up to 25 tons. This load capacity significantly exceeds standard designs and is therefore perfect for transporting solid precast concrete elements, floor elements and heavy walls.
We use the standardized BDF system, which guarantees universal applicability. Thanks to telescopic support legs, our swap-body platforms are compatible with all common truck types:
Standard semi-trailers (1,200 mm pick-up height)
Mega trailer (1,000 mm pick-up height)
Low-bed trailer (800 mm pick-up height)
This flexibility in the pick-up height gives you maximum flexibility when scheduling your carriers.
We offer swap bodies in the usual standard lengths of 7.15 m to 13.60 m. However, our in-house development and production allows us to adapt dimensions precisely to your typical component sizes.
All bridges have certified lashing points for load securing. The flexible equipment with stanchion systems (plug-in or sliding stanchions) enables form-fit and legally compliant load securing, even with complex element shapes.
The main difference lies in the statics and load-bearing capacity. While models for timber construction are optimized for volume and weather protection, the focus in concrete construction is on the highest point load-bearing capacity and torsional rigidity. The frame construction is significantly more solid in order to permanently and safely absorb the high dead weight of the concrete elements.
The main logistical advantage is the “drop & swap” principle. The swap bodies are loaded stress-free in the production hall while the truck is still on its way. On arrival, the truck picks up the finished bridge immediately and drives on. This procedure decouples production and logistics, which eliminates expensive waiting times for drivers and towing vehicles.
Yes, thanks to their robust and securely positioned feet, our bridges can be used as flexible temporary storage on the factory premises or directly on the construction site. The components can be removed “just-in-time” by the assembly workers without blocking a truck or crane.
Stability on the factory premises or construction site is non-negotiable. Our products are subject to strict static calculations and our own practical test procedures for load capacity and tipping safety. R-TECH simulates specific loading and transportation scenarios in order to guarantee load securing and stability even under extreme conditions (e.g. wind loads) without any gaps.
Our swap bodies for concrete construction are designed for maximum service life. We only use high-quality steels. Corrosion protection is provided either by hot-dip galvanizing (in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461) for maximum durability or by a high-quality industrial paint finish. The low-maintenance design minimizes your ongoing operating costs.
As a rule, our open swap bodies are designed in such a way that they can be stacked or transported in a space-saving manner when empty. This significantly reduces the costs for return transportation (empty runs).
Yes, in addition to the standard dimensions, the realization of individual special solutions is our core competence. Our engineering department implements your specific requirements – from special fixtures for unusual concrete shapes to integrated tarpaulin systems and special surface coatings.
FAQ: Frequently asked questions about swap bodies for timber construction
Timber components react sensitively to moisture and wetness. In contrast to concrete construction, where the focus is on load-bearing capacity,
Timber components are very bulky in relation to their mass. Our
The surfaces of timber components, especially finished surface-treated elements, must not be damaged by point loads. The R-TECH solutions for timber construction are based on:
Large-area supports: Special support points or protective profiles distribute the load evenly.
Adjustable stanchion systems: Enable gentle yet form-fitting load securing without direct pressure on the edges.
Vibration protection: Precise adjustment of the component holder to the transport racks minimizes movement during travel.
Yes, fundamentally. Swap bodies for timber construction must be stable, but not designed for point loads of 25 tons. The focus here is on
Absolutely. As timber elements are usually delivered “just-in-time” for assembly, our swap-body platforms reduce the need for expensive construction site logistics. They serve as mobile, weather-protected storage directly on the construction site. The components can be removed by the fitters with a time delay and without the need for immediate crane unloading, which helps to reduce truck downtimes.
Yes, the basic design is based on the proven BDF system and is compatible with all common standard articulated lorries, mega trailers and low-bed trailers, as well as with the fleet already used in concrete construction. This ensures maximum flexibility in fleet management.
Yes. We develop customized special frames for transporting XL beams or very long wall elements that exceed the standard dimensions of 13.60 m. The exact load distribution and compliance with the maximum permissible overall vehicle length play a decisive role here, which we calculate and implement precisely with our engineering team.
Although the swap bodies are often used with covers, the frame is exposed to the weather. We offer the same long-lasting corrosion protection as in all product areas: Hot-dip galvanizing to DIN standard or a highly resistant industrial paint finish, which ensures a long service life and freedom from maintenance in tough conditions.
